IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity and is a unique 15-digit serial number for every GSM phone. GSM phones, which typically use SIM cards, are often from providers like AT&T or T-Mobile. You can usually find the IMEI printed on the back of your phone, under the battery. On some phones, you can also view the IMEI by typing *#06# into the keypad, which will display it directly on the screen.
The IMEI number may also be referred to as the MEID or ESN number.

If your Apple device is locked to an iCloud account, you’ll need to unlock it before selling. Otherwise, the buyer may reduce the price they’re willing to pay.
You can easily remove your iCloud account directly on the device or through iCloud.com. Follow one of the options below (Option 2 is best if your device isn’t working).
Option 1: Removing iCloud Account on Your Device
1. Turn the device ON.
2. Open Settings.
3. Select iCloud.
4. Tap Delete Account.
5. Enter your Apple ID password when prompted.
6. Tap Turn Off.
Note: Complete this process before wiping or restoring your device.
Option 2: Removing iCloud Account via iCloud.com (Recommended for Faulty Devices)
1. Make sure the device is OFF.
2. Log in to [iCloud.com](http://iCloud.com) with your Apple ID and password.
3. Select Find My iPhone.
4. From the All Devices dropdown, choose your device.
5. Ensure the device shows as Offline.
6. Select Remove from Account.
7. Confirm by selecting Remove on the confirmation message.

Go to Settings > General > About. To the right of "Model" you’ll see a model number beginning with an "A" i.e. A1920.
Look on your device
On the iPhone 8 and later models you'll find the model number on the SIM tray. Carefully remove the SIM tray and look for a model number beginning with "A" i.e. A1920.
Prior to the Phone 8 you can find the model number on the back of the device in very small text. Again, look for a model number beginning with "A" i.e. A1920

How do I find my Samsung model?
To find out what model of Samsung phone you own, you can check either in the Settings or look for it printed on the device.
In Settings
1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap About phone.
3. You should see the model name, such as Galaxy S20.
Printed on the Device
Check the back of your device near the bottom, where Samsung prints the IMEI, serial number, and model number.
If you take the model number, which looks like “SM-G950F,” and search for it on Google, you can find out exactly what model you have. For example, "SM-G950F" corresponds to a Galaxy S8.
